On April 10, 2023, Lafayette Police responded to a report of multiple shots fired in the 200 block of Sophie Street in Lafayette, Louisiana. Upon arrival, officers found a black male, later identified as Kentrevon Gallien, 23, lying unresponsive in the roadway and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Gallien was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
