In the late summer of 2019, the life of a young Hampton, Virginia man was tragically cut short. Keith Matthew Berkley, a 19-year-old male, was shot and killed on Saturday, August 31, 2019. The incident that claimed Berkley's life took place on Spruce Street in Hampton. First responders were called to the scene following reports of a shooting, where they found the young man with gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Berkley succumbed to his injuries.
