In the winter of 2021, the life of 39-year-old Donnell Ryshad Hoskin was cut short by an act of violence in Hampton, Virginia. On the evening of Saturday, February 27th, police were called to a home in the 2100 block of East Roger Peed Drive. Inside, they discovered Hoskin, who had been fatally shot.
The investigation into the male victim's death moved swiftly. Within days, law enforcement officials announced the arrest of a suspect, 20-year-old Trishaun Lamar Boone Jr.
The case against Boone grew as investigators linked him to another deadly shooting that occurred the very next day in the same townhome complex, on Newton Road, where a 29-year-old man was killed. Boone was also connected to an attempted robbery that had taken place earlier that month on Nickerson Boulevard.
In connection with the death of Donnell Hoskin, Boone faced a series of serious charges. These included second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and reckless handling of a firearm. The arrest brought a suspect into custody, marking a significant development in a violent weekend that saw two men lose their lives in separate but allegedly connected shootings.
