On the evening of September 29, 2025, 19-year-old Kyree Staton, a male resident of Norfolk, Virginia, was fatally shot in Hampton. The incident took place at approximately 7:35 p.m. in the first block of Sacramento Drive, where officers from the Hampton Police Division responded to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they found two individuals suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.
