In the winter of 2020, the Lafayette, Louisiana community was shaken by the violent and untimely death of 17-year-old Matthew Carter. A senior at Comeaux High School, Carter was not just a student but also a cherished athlete, known for his involvement in both football and soccer. His life was abruptly cut short during an attempted armed robbery on the evening of January 18, 2020. Carter was discovered inside his black Chevy Camaro with a critical gunshot wound.
