In the early hours of Saturday, April 29, 2023, the life of 22-year-old Raylon Mason, a Black male from St. Martinville, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. The incident that led to his untimely death unfolded in Lafayette, Louisiana, in the 900 block of E. Simcoe Street. A large fight broke out, and amidst the chaos, numerous gunshots were fired. When the crowd dispersed, Mason was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
