Keyaira Rattray-Brothers, a 17-year-old resident of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, was tragically shot and killed on December 5, 2022. The incident occurred at the Kingsborough Houses in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, around midnight. Keyaira, who was affectionately known as "KeKe," was a junior at Independence High School and had aspirations of becoming an R&B and gospel singer. She was described by her family and friends as a beautiful soul, kind to everyone, and a talented dancer and singer.
