On March 24, 2019, 22-year-old African American male Kenderick Flugence Jr. was fatally shot at the Mon Chateau apartment complex on Louisiana Avenue in Lafayette, Louisiana. The incident occurred during the evening hours, following a verbal altercation between Flugence and another individual.
