Vontré DePaul Broussard, a 21-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 24, 2021, in Lafayette, Louisiana. The incident occurred in the parking lot of a Walgreens in Carencro, where Broussard was shot multiple times as he exited his vehicle to enter the store. The suspect, Kendall Ray Leopaul, a 20-year-old male from Lafayette, was indicted on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and aggravated criminal damage to property.
