In the early morning hours of March 25, 2026, the life of 22-year-old Irving Lumpkin III of Franklin, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. His body was discovered in the parking lot of the Elora Place Apartments, previously known as Grand Pointe Apartments, on Kaliste Saloom Road in Lafayette. The cause of his death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds. Lafayette Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at the apartment complex at approximately 6:30 a.m.
