In the early morning hours of October 17, 2021, a dispute in Lafayette, Louisiana, turned fatal, claiming the life of 32-year-old Jacob Perry. The incident unfolded around 3:20 a.m. on the 2900 block of Northeast Evangeline Thruway. An argument between Perry and another man escalated, resulting in Perry suffering a fatal gunshot wound. When authorities arrived at the scene, he was found deceased.
The investigation into the shooting led police to identify 24-year-old Marco Andrus as the
suspect. According to the police investigation, the altercation between Perry and Andrus preceded Andrus drawing a handgun and shooting Perry. Andrus was subsequently arrested and faced serious charges in connection with the death.
Following his arrest, Marco Andrus was charged with second-degree murder and soliciting for prostitution. He was then booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. A bond was set at $250,000. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the argument and subsequent shooting continued as authorities urged anyone with additional information to come forward.
