Geno T. Wilson, a 33-year-old man from Decatur, Illinois, was fatally shot during the early morning hours of September 20, 2026. At approximately 3:15 a.m., Decatur police officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of East Whitmer Street after receiving reports of gunfire and a vehicle crash. When officers arrived, they discovered a crashed vehicle with Wilson still inside. Officers removed him from the wreckage and determined that he had suffered at least one gunshot wound.
