On Christmas Day in 2024, the life of 53-year-old LeAnna Francine Carreon, a White / Caucasian female from Des Moines, Iowa, was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded in the Sheridan Gardens neighborhood on the afternoon of December 25th, when police responded to a shooting.
Authorities reported that LeAnna was found with critical injuries and transported to a local hospital, where she later died.
The investigation determined that her death was the result of a domestic-related murder-suicide perpetrated by her 60-year-old husband, Salvador Carreon. Investigators concluded that Salvador shot his wife before taking his own life at the scene. The Des Moines Police Department has stated that they are not seeking any other suspects in connection with the case. This event marked the 17th homicide in Des Moines for the year 2024.
