Christy Lynn Watson, a 51-year-old White woman from Des Moines, was found dead inside a house in the city's River Bend neighborhood on the morning of May 18, 2024. At approximately 11:37 a.m., Des Moines police officers were sent to the 1400 block of Fourth Street after someone reported that a deceased person was inside a residence. When officers entered the home, they discovered Watson with an apparent traumatic injury and called detectives and crime-scene investigators to the property.
