On November 11, 2009, a day meant to honor veterans, TereseAnn Marie Lynch, a 30-year-old White female and a veteran of the Iowa Air National Guard who had served three tours overseas, faced a tragic end in Des Moines, Iowa. Her estranged husband, Randall Todd Moore, abducted her at gunpoint from a Target parking lot.
