In the Hazelwood neighborhood of Pittsburgh, a burst of gunfire on the evening of January 27, 2021, tragically cut short the life of 19-year-old Kwaeonte Carpenter. The shooting occurred in the 300 block of Flowers Avenue, shattering the winter night's quiet.
Following the gunshots, Carpenter, a female, was rushed into a private vehicle along with a male who had sustained a gunshot wound to his hand. In a desperate bid for help, the vehicle was stopped by police officers on Blair Street.
