Janyel Crawford, a 31-year-old Black female from North Versailles, was shot late on the night of August 26, 2020, in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood. Police were called after gunfire was detected and reported near the intersection of Frankstown Avenue and Collier Street at about 11:30 p.m. When officers and first responders arrived, they found two victims: Crawford, who had been struck multiple times, and a man who had also been shot.
