On the early morning of March 5, 2017, Saundra Thomas, a 47-year-old African American woman, was found dead in her home on E. 34th Street in Savannah, Georgia. The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene, where they discovered that Saundra Thomas had been shot and killed.
