Hogan, a Black male, was not alone in his final moments; he was with 21-year-old Daija Jordan, who also perished in the violent encounter.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office responded to a call just before 1:00 a.m. to find both Hogan and Jordan unresponsive outside a residence in the 3600 block of Bloomfield Drive. Emergency medical services arrived, but it was too late; both had succumbed to their gunshot wounds. The incident was quickly classified as a double homicide, marking the 13th and 14th homicides in Macon that year.
