Chauncey Jevon Love II, a 27-year-old Black man, came to Macon from Orange Park, Florida, and on the night of November 23, 2021, his life ended in the parking lot of the Best Western on Riverside Drive. Deputies were called just after 11 p.m. about a man who had been shot inside a vehicle, and when they arrived they found Love unresponsive. Investigators later said he had traveled to Bibb County with two other men from Florida for a marijuana transaction, and that somewhere in the middle of that ...
