In a tragic turn of events, a Saturday night shooting in Macon, Georgia, claimed the life of 26-year-old Tadarius Cornelius Williams. The incident occurred on April 9, 2022, on Millerfield Road. Williams was driving his car when he was shot, which caused him to lose control and crash at the intersection of New Clinton and Millerfield Road.
Initially, the incident was reported as a car accident. However, upon his arrival at the hospital, medical staff discovered that Williams had sustained a gunshot wound. Despite medical efforts, Tadarius Cornelius Williams, a resident of Tennille, Georgia, succumbed to his injuries on Monday, April 11, 2022, at approximately 3:00 p.m.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office quickly launched an investigation into the shooting. Their efforts led to the arrest of 21-year-old DeShondre Octavious Liggins of Macon. Initially, Liggins was charged with aggravated assault. However, following Williams' death, the charges against him were upgraded to murder. Liggins is currently being held in custody without bond.
