In the early morning hours of Friday, March 6, 2026, the life of 42-year-old Marquiz Dewayne Hoges was tragically cut short in south Macon, Georgia. Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 1 a.m. in the 3400 block of Houston Avenue, where they discovered Hoges suffering from a gunshot wound.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported Hoges to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Despite their efforts, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office has stated that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in their investigation.
