On the evening of April 18, 2021, 27-year-old African American male Greg Lamar Watkins Jr. was fatally shot inside the Chevron convenience store located at 584 Emery Highway in Macon, Georgia. According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred just before 10:00 p.m., when Watkins Jr. was standing inside the store and was shot multiple times. He was transported by a personal vehicle to Coliseum Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 11:00 p.m.
