Walter James Brown Jr., a 31-year-old Black man, was killed in Athens, Georgia, on the night of December 10, 2018, after gunfire erupted at the Oak Hill Apartments off Oak Hill Drive. Police were called around 8:40 p.m. and found him on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers tried to keep him alive until paramedics arrived, but he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
