On March 8, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Athens, Georgia, resulting in the death of three-year-old Kyron Santino Zarco Smith. Kyron and his 9-year-old brother were watching a movie inside their home at the Hallmark Mobile Home Park on Spring Valley Road when bullets entered the residence. The shooting, which happened around 5:30 p.m., also injured an adult and Kyron's 9-year-old brother, who survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
