On March 5, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in the Five Points neighborhood of Athens, Georgia, resulting in the death of 24-year-old Ja’Vanni McDavid. McDavid, who was an associate of the Red Tape Gang (RTG), was driving his vehicle with four passengers after leaving a party in the area.
