Senior Police Officer Elmer Basco "Buddy" Christian III, a 34-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on March 22, 2011, in Athens, Georgia. Officer Christian was responding to a carjacking and kidnapping incident when he was fatally shot. The incident began when another officer, Senior Police Officer Tony Howard, was shot and wounded during a traffic stop.
