In the winter of 2018, a resident of Camden, New Jersey, lost his life in a burst of violence that echoed through the East Camden neighborhood. Amir Hardison, a 28-year-old Black male, was on the 500 block of Pfeiffer Street on the evening of February 11th when he was targeted in a fatal shooting. The sounds of gunfire prompted both 911 calls and an activation of the city's Shotspotter system, drawing a swift police response to the scene.
