On March 27, 2024, Casey Roy Hobbs, a 32-year-old resident of Colbert, Georgia, died under circumstances that appear to involve a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Hobbs was found deceased in his Dodge Ram pickup truck, which was stopped on Jefferson Road near Kathwood Drive in northwestern Athens-Clarke County.
