Krystal Lynne Jones, 37, female, died in the early hours of September 12, 2019, at a home on Mount Zion Road in Resaca, Georgia, after what authorities described as a domestic disturbance turned into a gunfire-filled siege. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Gordon County sheriff's deputies were called to the residence at about 3:00 a.m. When they arrived, they found Krystal and were then confronted by Dwight Juliuse Jones, who authorities said immediately opened fire at both deputies and Krystal. She was struck multiple times inside the home. A deputy returned fire, hitting Dwight Jones and creating an opening for officers to pull Krystal from the residence, but she later died from her injuries.
