In the quiet town of Milledgeville, Georgia, a confrontation on the evening of March 30, 2020, ended in the tragic death of 34-year-old Aaron Skinner. Deputies from the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office were called to a residence on Fox Hill Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they found Aaron Skinner had been fatally wounded.
The homeowner, 44-year-old Bobby Wood, told investigators that Skinner had approached him in an aggressive manner. Wood claimed that he fired what he described as 'warning shots,' one of which struck Skinner in the abdomen, leading to his death at the scene. Despite Wood's account, the investigation by the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office led them to pursue charges against him.
Investigators determined that Skinner was unarmed at the time of the incident, a key factor in the decision to seek warrants for felony murder and aggravated assault against Bobby Wood.
