On June 14, 2015, gunshots shattered the night outside the Soul Masters Diner on North Glynn Street, leaving Key fatally wounded. Key was pronounced dead at approximately 3 a.m.

They have an anonymous tip line and have offered a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
