On December 20, 2014, Rafael Ramos, a 40-year-old New York City Police Department (NYPD) officer, was tragically killed in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Ramos, along with his partner Wenjian Liu, was sitting in their patrol car when they were ambushed and shot by Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley.
