Ferdinand "Fred" Todaro, aged 60, was tragically murdered on February 19, 1979, in Brooklyn, New York. His death was a result of a brutal attack orchestrated by his nephew, Douglas Rega, who sought to take over Todaro's film production business. The murder was carried out by the infamous DeMeo Crew, a notorious faction of the Gambino organized crime family. Todaro was lured to an apartment under the pretense of discussing a car sale.
