On September 30, 2024, Shaquille "Oody" Davis, a 32-year-old resident of Brooklyn, New York, was fatally shot in the head near 456 Dekalb Avenue in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. The incident occurred just before 5:30 p.m. as Davis was sitting on a park bench near a playground with two friends. A gunman fired from a distance, striking Davis and injuring his companions—a 26-year-old man shot in the abdomen and shoulder, and a 33-year-old man shot in the torso.
