Death by Force

On May 18, 2023, at approximately 4:05 p.m., 59-year-old Brooklyn resident Pernell Webster was fatally shot inside the New York City Housing Authority's Saratoga Village complex, located on Saratoga Avenue near Halsey Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. Webster sustained gunshot wounds to his arm and torso on the 13th floor of the building. Emergency responders transported him to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
