On September 27, 2023, 27-year-old Salvador "PJ" Martinez was fatally shot in Brooklyn, New York. Martinez, an aspiring fashion designer who had created his own clothing line, was visiting friends near the Marcy Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant when the incident occurred. He had recently moved to the Kensington neighborhood but frequently returned to his former area to connect with loved ones.
