In the early afternoon of a Sunday in January, a burst of violence shattered the quiet of a Brooklyn apartment building. Inside a residence on Covert Street, 32-year-old Lamel Murphy, a male from the Bronx, was shot multiple times. The incident occurred at approximately 12:47 p.m. on January 29, 2023. Responding to a 911 call, police discovered Murphy with gunshot wounds to his chest and leg.
