In the early morning hours in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Sunset Park, a violent encounter inside an illegal nightclub claimed the life of 31-year-old Giovanni Rivera. The establishment, located at 5002 Third Avenue, was known to residents for its late-night, boisterous activity. On this particular morning, at approximately 5 a.m., a 911 call reporting an assault in progress brought officers from the 72nd Precinct to the scene.
