Anwah Armbrister, an 18-year-old male, found his life tragically cut short on the afternoon of October 1, 2023. The fatal incident unfolded inside a building located at 460 East 21st Street in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. At approximately 5:10 p.m., both Anwah and a 15-year-old female companion were shot. Despite their injuries, they managed to make their way out of the building.
First responders discovered the two injured teenagers near the intersection of East 21st Street and
Dorchester Road. Anwah had sustained devastating gunshot wounds to his head and chest. He was rushed by Emergency Medical Services to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital. The young woman with him suffered a graze wound to her left shin and was treated and subsequently released from the hospital.
In the wake of the shooting, the New York Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide. However, as of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting of Anwah Armbrister. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or a potential motive for the violent act that ended a young life and left a community in mourning. The investigation remains ongoing.
