In the early morning hours of November 10, 2022, the life of 30-year-old Walter Billy Manning III, a male resident of Laurel, Maryland, was tragically cut short. Just after midnight, at approximately 12:40 a.m., officers from the Prince George's County Police Department were dispatched to the 7200 block of East Ridge Drive in Landover following reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Manning outside, suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was quickly transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Walter Billy Manning III succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead several hours later.
In the wake of the fatal shooting, the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit launched an investigation to identify the person or persons responsible for Manning's death. At the time of the initial reports, investigators had not yet determined a motive for the shooting and had not publicly identified any suspects. A reward of up to $25,000 was offered for any information that would lead to an arrest and indictment in the case.
