On September 16, 2010, 17-year-old Erlin Alexis Romero-Ramirez was tragically shot and killed in a park on Nicholson Street in Hyattsville, Maryland. The incident occurred around 8 p.m., and the park, which features basketball courts, a baseball field, and hiking trails, became the scene of a devastating crime.
