In the spring of 2021, a dispute in Palmer Park, Maryland, tragically cut short the life of 29-year-old Devin Solomon. On the morning of March 30, 2021, at approximately 10:00 a.m., patrol officers from the Prince George's County Police Department were called to the 2300 block of Penbrook Circle following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Devin Solomon, a male resident of Landover, in the roadway, suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into Solomon's death quickly unfolded. About ten minutes after the initial police response, two individuals with gunshot wounds arrived at a local hospital. One was an adult female with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The other was 26-year-old William Patrick Wells II of Capitol Heights. After receiving treatment, Wells was released from the hospital and taken into police custody.
According to the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that Solomon and Wells were known to each other and had been involved in a dispute that escalated to them shooting one another. Following the incident, the Prince George's Homicide Unit arrested Wells and charged him in connection with the fatal shooting. He faces charges of second-degree murder, among others, and was taken into the custody of the Department of Corrections. Authorities have indicated that no other arrests are anticipated in the case.
