Amos Williams Jr., a 31-year-old corporal with the District of Columbia Department of Corrections, tragically lost his life on December 31, 1996, in Hyattsville, Maryland. On that fateful day, Corporal Williams was off duty and outside a department store located at 6411 Riggs Road when he was approached by two men who attempted to rob him.
