On April 14, 2023, at approximately 5:15 pm, a tragic incident occurred in the 2100 block of Guilford Road in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville, Maryland. Rudy Perez Gutierrez, a 24-year-old resident of Hyattsville, was fatally shot during a robbery. Officers responding to reports of a shooting found Perez Gutierrez and another victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
