Known affectionately as Juan to his friends and family, he was found by Prince George's County police on 52nd Avenue suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jawaun, born on February 11, 1998, was a devoted father to his son, Jawaun David James Jackson, and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his second child, who was due on his own birthday. He found particular joy in spending time at the beach, a place he considered his favorite in the world. He is survived by his parents, Jennifer Franklin and Charles Jackson, Sr., his son, his siblings, and his girlfriend, Nicole Lee.
