On March 23, 2024, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Prince George's County Police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of Metzerott Road in Adelphi, Maryland. Upon arrival, they discovered 43-year-old Charles Dent of Hyattsville suffering from a gunshot wound. Tragically, Dent was pronounced dead at the scene.
