Caron Simpkins, an 18-year-old from Washington, D.C., was tragically shot and killed on February 21, 2022, near John Carroll Elementary School in Landover, Maryland. The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1400 block of Nalley Terrace. Upon arrival, they found Simpkins on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
