In the early morning hours of July 6, 2025, a young man's life was cut short in a burst of violence that shattered the quiet of a Landover, Maryland neighborhood. J'len Livingston, a 21-year-old male from Clinton, was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 7500 block of Allendale Drive. First responders rushed to the scene at approximately 1:00 a.m.
and transported him to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he died a short time later.
The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit immediately launched an investigation into the fatal shooting. Detectives worked diligently to piece together the events that led to Livingston's death. Preliminarily, they determined that the shooting was not a random act of violence. Their investigation pointed to a dispute between Livingston and an individual he knew. As they delved deeper into the case, a suspect began to emerge.
Within days of the shooting, investigators identified 21-year-old Damarion Jones of Largo as the alleged perpetrator.
