Nijah Johnson, a 24-year-old resident of Hyattsville, Maryland, tragically lost her life on July 30, 2021. The incident occurred in the 1900 block of Village Green Drive in Landover, where Johnson and two other women were outside when a car drove by and opened fire. Hannah Woods, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Nijah Johnson succumbed to her injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital. The third woman sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
